Job Description and Requirements:

We are seeking a talented and broadly skilled Electronics Engineer to play a key role in leading the hardware and firmware development of our client's media technologies for cinema and home entertainment.

The Electronics Engineer will have strong engineering project management skills along with technical leadership. This person will contribute on one or more hardware projects that take advanced algorithms from Research, analyze them for product suitability, and implement them in hardware as either ASIC, FPGA or firmware solutions.

Essential Job Functions:

Requirements:

* Hardware Development. Develop original hardware architectures and designs for new products and evaluation systems. Establish design requirements and performance goals, and develop test and evaluation procedures to ensure that design requirements are met. Work with PCB layout designers to meet performance and manufacturability requirements.
* Technology Development and Leadership. Support the creation or adoption of new technology applications through the development of products, prototypes and advanced engineering evaluation systems. Identify and document new technology ideas. Meet with external suppliers and distributors to examine new products and technologies. Provide input to the design team regarding implementation limitations and suggest alternate approaches. Provide technical assistance and expertise to other team members, management, and Marketing.
* Project Task Management. Establish the task schedule, subsystem definition, task milestones, effort estimates and technical goals for projects. Review and understand customer and Marketing needs for the product or technology. Provide assistance and expertise to other groups and internal/external customers.
* Provide support for the product and implementation evaluation teams as required.
* Manage projects of moderate to advanced scope.
* Contribute to the recruitment, training and development of the technical staff.
* Develop standards and measurements to ensure that quality and value is maintained in products manufactured with internal technologies.
* Deepens technical knowledge through attending trade shows, seminars, conferences and educational events

* Minimum of seven years of experience with a BSEE, or five years of experience with a MSEE, in testing, designing and/or manufacturing of high-tech electronics. Familiarity technologies and applications of Digital Signal Processing as it applies to audio and video products.
* ASIC design using Verilog or VHDL, including design and verification
* The system architecture of electronic systems at both the chip and board level
* PCB design and debug, including component selection, bus design, interface design and DFM considerations
* Experience must include exposure to each the following areas, with enhanced specialization in at least one: DSP, digital video electronic design, video interconnect standards, LCD drive technologies, and GPU programming.
* Experience with Matla
