Senior Analyst, Corporate Development/Finance

JOB SUMMARY:

The senior analyst will be located at Advanstar?s corporate headquarters in Woodland Hills and work closely with the Corporate Financial Development Manager to support the CFO in various finance-related activities and the EVP-Corporate Development in all stages of acquisitions/ divestitures. The position offers high exposure to a variety of finance and corporate development activities including: participating in due diligence activities, analyzing budgets, forecasts and strategic plans of properties (publications/ expositions), developing reporting and operating procedures, and researching and completing special projects as assigned.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial analysis:
?Analyze monthly/quarterly financial results to understand underlying causes for property performance and variances between current periods and budget, forecast and prior periods.
?Analyze quarterly forecast and annual budget rollups to identify existing or potential operating issues; analyze real-time forecasts such as page, booth or sales tracking reports to anticipate developing issues and recommend action steps in response.
?Perform selected troubleshooting reviews of properties at an in-depth level to assist in developing action plans to resolve operating problems to support management decision making.
Acquisitions/Divestitures/transactions:
?Assist the EVP-Corporate Development/CDFM/CEO in all phases of the transaction evaluation and execution.
?Perform financial analysis on target acquisition/ divestiture companies
?Work with operating groups to create post-acquisition integration, operating and transition plans and financial forecasts.
?Support the financial and commercial due diligence process, including drafting and reviewing commercial and financial schedules to transaction documents.
Group Finance/Datamart Support:
?Provide analytical support to the Group Finance Function.
?Develop superior knowledge of Datamart (the company?s data warehouse) as an analytical and decision/support tool. Work with CFO/CDFM on developing new reports and ensuring the accuracy of existing reports.
Business reviews and strategic planning:
?Participate in business review meetings and assist in implementing action items
