Residential Construction Manager Job Location: Calgary Job Description Construction Manager Calgary Company Calgary based home builder that is growing rapidly and is seeking a dedicated and self motivated professional to apply their skills and experience as a Construction Manager in our fast-paced and client focused environment. Role The Construction Manager manages the construction and warranty of houses in multiple communities within the Calgary and Airdrie, and is accountable for the construction and warranty schedules and timely integration of construction trades, material, documentation, and staffing. Knowledge/Experience Minimum 5 years of residential construction experience in a similar role; Post-secondary education in Architecture, construction or related field, or suitable combination of education and experience; Knowledge of local building codes, by-laws, and residential construction practices is essential; Job Description As Construction Manager you will be expected to: Monitor and evaluate the progress of construction through regular review with the construction staff; Ensures all homes are built to requirements and specifications established by construction drawings, Design Centre changes options and upgrades, building codes, The Alberta New Home Warranty standards, and company standards; Monitor production schedules, and cost control to ensure that homes are completed on time, meet expected quality and within budget; Respond to any issues that arise and provide guidance to ensure these are resolved and quality is maintained to company standards; Liaison with construction staff, responsible for the measurement of quality control for materials and workmanship through regular review and monitoring of results. Implement corrective measures or improvements as appropriate as per company standards; Maintain adequate staffing at different company community sites to ensure timely construction of homes. Includes evaluation and discipline of staff as necessary; Develop and maintain strong, productive supplier/trade contractor relationships. Ensure suppliers/trades work is as per company standards. Skills/Attributes Highly developed organizational skills and time-management ability including the tracking and control of costs and budgets. Must be detailed and thorough; Strong leadership and management skills, including ability to train and motivate staff through advanced leadership skills with the ability to delegate
